- Explain key concepts from interpersonal neurobiology and neurogenesis, including how relational and environmental experiences shape brain development and trauma recovery
- Differentiate between PTSD and complex PTSD, and describe how chronic traumatization impacts identity, memory, and emotional regulation
- Identify dissociative symptoms using validated tools (e.g., DES-II, MID-60) and apply this understanding to case conceptualization
- Describe the structural dissociation model, including the roles of ANPs and EPs, and distinguish between ego states and dissociative parts
- Explain the tri-phasic model and how it relates to EMDR Therapy, integrating pacing, and titration
- Understand adaptations such as EMD, EMDr, and CIPOS
- Identify strategies for building trust with protector parts and supporting internal collaboration through Phase 2 interventions and somatic co-regulation
- Recognize the ethical importance of therapist self-regulation and self-care, and implement practices that protect the nervous system and support sustained trauma work

continuing education information
To receive continuing education credit, participants must complete all required components of this distance learning course through the online Mindemics portal. This includes completing all course content in full, successfully passing the required post-tests with a score of 80% or higher, and completing the course evaluation.
Once completion has been verified, participants will be awarded 12 EMDRIA Continuing Education Credits and will receive a Certificate of Completion via email.

This program is open to licensed mental health professionals, and to mental health graduate students, interns, and associates under appropriate clinical supervision.
Participants must meet the educational, training, and professional standards required by their respective licensing boards to practice psychotherapy independently or under supervision. For EMDRIA Credit, attendees must have completed an EMDRIA-Approved Basic Training in EMDR Therapy prior to participation. It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure they meet their licensing board’s requirements for continuing education eligibility.
