This program offers the tailored consultation and supervision you need to confidently meet these criteria and successfully achieve your EMDR certification. Let us help you every step of the way!
The EMDR Certification Program is designed for clinicians who have completed basic EMDR training and are seeking to advance their skills and qualifications. Becoming an EMDRIA certified clinician demonstrates your expertise and commitment to the highest standards of EMDR therapy. Certification makes sure that you are fully equipped to use EMDR effectively across a wide range of cases, especially in trauma therapy. By completing this certification program, you will gain credibility, enhance your practice, and expand your professional opportunities in the mental health field.
breaking down the requirements
EMDRIA certification is recognized as a mark of excellence in the therapy world. It shows your clients, colleagues, and the community that you’ve committed to becoming an expert in EMDR.
Certification helps solidify everything you learned in basic training, and the hands-on experience will bring you to a new level of clarity.
By the end of this process, you’ll feel equipped to handle anything EMDR throws your way. Complex cases? No problem. You’ve got this.
Sign up for the program to gain access to consultation hours, resources, and support.
Set up 20 hours of consultation (10 individual, 10 group) with your EMDRIA-approved consultant to review cases, discuss challenges, and receive personalized feedback.
Conduct 50 sessions with at least 25 different clients, working through all 8 phases of EMDR therapy.
Complete 12 hours of EMDRIA approved continuing education to meet requirements and stay current with advanced EMDR techniques and trauma treatment.
After completing the required sessions, consultation hours, and education, gather your documentation and submit your application to EMDRIA for certification!
Once certified, update your marketing materials, website, and professional profiles to reflect your new status as an EMDRIA Certified Therapist!
You can start the certification program once you have completed your EMDRIA approved basic training. However, a part of the application to become a Certified EMDR Therapist is your independent license as a mental health professional.
Consultation hours can be scheduled immediately after completing basic training, with flexibility depending on your consultant’s availability.
These sessions should be completed at your own pace but must be done before submitting your certification application.
Keep a log of your sessions and consultations, ensuring to document client cases and consultation hours with clear dates and details.
Consultations can be done remotely via Zoom, phone, or other virtual platforms, as long as they are in real-time. Mindemics uses Zoom to conduct most consultations included in the certification program.
The timeline varies, but most clinicians take several months to a year, depending on session availability and consultation scheduling.
The 12 hours of continuing education can be completed at any time during the certification process, as long as they are EMDRIA approved.
Consultations are offered both individually and in groups. Individual consultations allow for more time to take a deep dive into your cases. Group consultations allow for collaborative learning and discussion.
Absolutely! If you don’t have a group, Carlie can help assemble one for you with other therapists who are also looking to get certified. This way, you can still take advantage of the group pricing and connect with like-minded professionals on your journey to certification.
